Where we stand

What we believe about theology and policy.

What we believe

GOD

We believe that God is a loving God who made the human being in God’s image. Therefore, all people are of intrinsic value and loved by God.

jesus

In Christ, the head of the church, God conquers sin & reconciles the world to Divine Love. We believe in God, and we follow Jesus.

holy spirit

God’s continuing presence and activity in the world.

Trinity

God, Christ, Holy Spirit
are one.

church

A community of people united in Christ through worship, work, and witness–not a building.

Bible

The inspired Word of God. We take the scripture too seriously to take it literally.

service to others

The mission of the Church is work for justice and to establish God’s Realm in the world.

baptism

Through baptism, we are joined in faith with Jesus and accepted into the fellowship of the Church.

the lord’s supper

The breaking of bread and sharing of cup are done in remembrance of Christ’s death and resurrection.

faith

Faith isn’t about not asking questions. It’s asking questions, doubting, believing, and trusting. It’s messy. It’s hard. It’s worth it.

hope

Our hope is in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, who in the fullness of time will make all things right. It’s our call to be his hands and feet in the world.

justice

We believe justice is a sign of God’s work in the world. We are called to work toward it.

Where we stand

god loves queer people

LGBTQ+ folks belong–in the pews, the pulpit, and in policy

faith supports reproductive justice

Jesus never shamed a woman for her choices–neither should we.

anti-racism is gospel work

Jesus flipped tables. You can call out injustice.

protect the planet. IT’s God’s.

Creation isn’t a commodity–it’s sacred.

Justice is economic, too

Poverty isn’t a personal failure. It’s a policy choice.

jesus was a refugee

Welcoming immigrants isn’t just politics. It’s discipleship.

faith > firearms

We worship the Prince of Peace–not the Second Amendment.

healing is holy

Jesus didn’t charge co-pays. Healthcare is a human right.

voting is sacred

Suppressing the vote is sin. Period.

faith > firearms

Faith should guide compassion, not control policy.

restorative justice

God’s justice heals. Our systems should, too.

Religious Freedom is Freedom for All

Not just Christians.
